Student Health and Wellness

At IDU, we are committed to promoting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of our students. We recognize that a student’s health and well-being are essential to their academic success and overall quality of life.

Psychological and emotional well-being

To support psychological and emotional well-being of students the University is using professional services. In addition to general support students can also seek support from Students Union, Students Engagement and Support Office and Academic members of staff to help them with their educational and administrative needs.

Learning Support

In terms of learning support IDU encourages students to participate in extracurricular activities and clubs as well as seek support from the Students Union in organising their own clubs to help them excel in their learning journeys. All activities are optional for students and aim at assisting the students in development of their knowledge, skills and competencies in their selected study areas.

Health and disability support policies

The University prioritizes student well-being, with health and disability support policies in place. Sensitive information is kept confidential, and safeguarding and parental engagement policies are followed. The regulatory framework aligns with local legislation and international best practices.

Financial hardship, accommodation issues

In case of financial hardship, accommodation issues, learning support difficulties students are encouraged to seek attention of the financial and administrative offices to find solutions to their problems.

Non-discriminatory

The Students Union at IDU offers dedicated support for student well-being, including a “Girls Power” section that promotes gender equality and upholds non-discriminatory practices.
